Around Our House Recently

Lately, B and I have been working away trying to knock things off of our 2011 to-do list. Over the past few days, we've actually accomplished quite a bit.

For one, we've managed to clean out our old bedroom and get the walls primed...

{July 2010}

The walls and trim still need to be painted, and B intends to replace those drafty cubby doors (that are unprimed in the photos above). I'm just thrilled that we have officially started work on the nursery. We have our crib and mattress waiting to go in, and I've also purchased my inspiration fabric and a few other small things.

Even more exciting is that now that the weather is finally starting to warm up, and we've been getting some nice weekends, B's got to work again working on the exterior of our home. Yesterday, after a delicious breakfast out and a quick trip to Costco, B got back to work on our siding...

If you'll remember, the last time B and my father were able to actually get siding up was in December. So it's nice to see more getting completed outside.

Siding wasn't the only thing B was working on either. I was also happy to finally see that our new mailbox was up on a post by our front steps...

Each is a pretty small step in our overall list, but I must say I am so happy about each and every one of them. They've given both of us the motivation we each need to keep knocking things off of that list as quickly as we can.

You'll also notice, in the pictures of our mailbox, the boxes that are up on our front deck. What are they? Well, during our Costco trip we stumbled across some really great looking planters that we plan to use on the driveway in front of the house with some tall shrubs in them. We're hoping that it will bring some height and balance to the whole front of our home.

So even with a lot of other things going on this past weekend, we managed to get quite a lot completed. How about the rest of you? Get any projects crossed off your to-do lists recently? Started any work outdoors with all of the nice weather?
