I got bored real fast when it came to choosing lumber and screws... I managed to entertain myself with an old copy of Elle Decor they had kicking around this end of the aisle |
B consulting the list after about 3 hours of shopping... we were both ready to go by this point (and absolutely starving).... |
Just a look at the stuff we took home with us after the trip |
That last photo is extremely misleading. This was actually a very successful (and large) shopping trip that resulted in spending a lot of money. All of the larger items like doors, lumber and other necessary pieces are on order and will be delivered to our house when we are ready to begin.
It was a little hard to hand over the credit card after all of it, but it was buffered slightly by the fact that we have no interest or payments for 12 months on our Lowes card. We know we'll have no problem paying it off over the next year, and our bank account thanks us for that.
We're both very excited to get this project rolling (and completed), and of course I cannot wait to share the transformation with all of you! Now, are we the only ones crazy enough to take on a renovation outdoors at this time of the year? Anyone else ready to tackle something large? We'd love to hear from other die hard DIYers like ourselves, so spill!
Wow! Congrats on the big shopping trip Kerry! I don't think it's that crazy to be doing an outdoor project at this time of year. Ya, you might be cold when you start out, but with all that hard work, you'll be sweating in no time! Much better than doing it in the summer.
ReplyDeleteAnd I cannot wait to see how it turns out!
Not crazy at all! Just get moving so it doesn't get toooo cold!
ReplyDeleteOoh - can't wait to see it! You are going to love every square inch of your home when the dust has finally settled, and not many people can say that!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a busy weekend! Christmas shopping AND 3 hours at Lowes!? I'd be whipping out that magazine too ;)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see how your project turns out!
wow! good luck and can't wait to see it reveal!
ReplyDeleteTell that bum he needs to cut his hair ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone! I can't wait to share the project with you.. but it won't be until Nov that we start working away (believe it or not!)
ReplyDelete@B.... I tell that bum everyday to cut his hair... he doesn't listen very well ha
