I know things were silent here last week! I was busy working on a project that I hope to share by the end of the week, while also preparing for a show that Halle Handmade will be a part of this Saturday.
And speaking of shows, you know what's coming up SO SOON!? The One of a Kind Show and Sale in Toronto. You know, only my favourite show ever!? ReplyDeleteI personally love shopping the downtown streets of small towns. There are always unique stores with unique ideas blooming with inspiration. I would say the best places I have found so far are in downtown Bracebridge in the Muskoka area.

ReplyDeleteI love this time of year because of all the fairs - there are so many people selling homemade things like wool, lip balm, hand cream, clothes, cards, gifts, etc. It makes it easy to buy local. I just bought some goat milk cleansers from the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair!

ReplyDeleteI love to visit little shops in both Toronto and Mississauga. I also love buying from Ontario shops on Etsy. Anything I can do to support Canada! I haven't been to OOAK yet, and I'm really hoping to go this year!

ReplyDeleteI had never been to this show until last year and loved it! I'd love to go again and take my Mom with me this time, would be nice for something to do together around the holiday season. So many creative vendors to explore at this show - would love to see who will be there this year :)

ReplyDeleteMy favourite place to shop locally is at the Hamilton Farmers' Market - for food and gifts and flowers and homemade items! Love the eclectic items available there week to week!
ReplyDeleteThe first time I heard of the show was last spring from my sister & I'm hoping to attend this Christmas show. It will be a nice little break for me from studying for my exams. This show will definitely spawn lots of inspiration and drive to complete what I've been holding back to create.
ReplyDeletei love handmade! hubby and i venture to find local coffee shops, farmers markets and artisan markets in every city we've moved to. now in london,on, we love trails end farmers market which combines all three of those!

ReplyDeleteOOAK show is where I like to shop local. Also, the unique boutique type streets in my hometown that are owned by families or just local entrepreneurs. They have unique gifts are often handcrafted that you won't find in the chain stores

ReplyDeleteI love the OOAK show! Every year around this time my family (cousins ,Aunts, Great Aunts) get together and visit the downtown streets of small towns and enjoy a day of shopping and lunch! We've been from Port Perry all the way to Orangville and every where in between! I also love to shop at the farmers market in town and travel to Barrie for their year round indoor market!
