Last year, B's sister picked up and made the move across the country, making a new home for herself and her boyfriend in San Diego. We talked a lot about visiting, so in December we booked a February trip to see them. We knew it would be the perfect time to escape the grey and rain of Vancouver and have one last vacation as a family of three before our little babe arrives.
The first couple of days of our trip B's sister had stuff going on so we made sure to visit the Zoo, hit Seaport Village, hang by the pool at the hotel and just explore little Italy and some of the Gaslamp District by foot. The weather was gorgeous and we enjoyed every second of it!

Once the weekend rolled around B's sister and her boyfriend did a great job showing us around. We ate in Old Town, hung out in Coronado, hit Mission Beach & La Jolla Shores, ate Ice Cream at Ghirardelli downtown and visited the seals in La Jolla. It was busy, but still relaxed, and we loved our family time with them as well! H keeps telling us her highlight was playing in the waves with her Auntie.

I'm so glad we had this little trip away. It was only 5 days, but a nice chance for us to recharge and enjoy some family time together. I know we all had a blast and already talk about how we can't wait to go for another visit... only next time we'll be a family of 4!
The countdown to baby is just flying by! His nursery is still mostly non existent (though we finally have a plan coming together), but I hope to share it once we really get started. In the meantime, I need to get our rec room cleaned up and snap some photos - we've made a serious transformation down there and I can't wait to share it with you! What has everyone else been up to? Anyone else able to escape the winter weather for somewhere warmer (especially those of you on the east coast!?)
