Making It Our Own

So, I know that the last time I posted about our bathroom reno, I said that I would wait for the reveal to share any moremore. Well, I'm going back on my word. We've been slacking a bit on the bathroom, and I can't wait much longer to share some of these details with you. So without further ado, I want to share our GORMORGON vanity with you - you know, the one we drilled into so that our Delta Faucet would fit.

Well, B and my Dad did an awesome job, and I'm actually happier with the look of the faucet on the vanity than I had thought. Even though we're happy with it, I wanted to do a little bit more to make this more modern looking vanity, appear more traditional.

Though the GODMORGON comes with it's own hardware, we opted to purchase our own to switch up the look of the vanity a little more. With a trusty Home Depot gift card in hand, Halle and I went shopping and found some brushed nickle scoop pulls to add to the front of the vanity drawers.

Yes, we do plan on filling those smaller holes meant for the supplied hardware...

Two nights ago, B and I got to work getting them on there. The drawers are 40" wide, so after B did some measuring and tried out a couple different placements we decided to place the handles at 10" off centre. This puts them a quarter of the way in, which is perfect based on the size of our smaller scoops.

And yes, we did mix metals by adding by the brushed nickel handles onto our drawers, but I like it. It's not like we veered that far off of the faucet and shower set, and I think it looks great.

It's really coming together, and we're loving it. At least for now the toilet and sink are functioning, and Halle is getting regular baths in the big tub - which she LOVES. It's her and B's time and she loves splashing around and playing with her pink rubber duck after her Daddy gets her all cleaned up.

Hopefully we'll have a bit more motivation to finish up this bathroom now. What's left?

- Window trim
- Paint touch ups
- Mirror
- Towel bar and toilet roll holder
- Finish Shelving
- Transition in the doorway
- Shower Curtain
- Caulk around the tub

It's all those little finishing touches that I think everyone hates doing... am I right?

  2. Great decision going with your own hardware! There are no rules, right? ;) And I hear you on the final details - by that point, you're just happy to have a useable space (and running water) again. Caulking can surely wait!

  3. Pesky details are the worst! That's usually the point when I start hoping that someone will magically show up while I'm not home and finish it all for me (so far, no luck). Looks great so far!

  7. It's looking awesome! I really like that sink! It looks big and wide enough that water doesn't splash everywhere every time you wash your face. Ours does that and it drives me CRAZY!
