The Nursery Reveal

Happy Monday morning friends! I hope that you all enjoyed this lovely summer weekend! I know I sure did, spending it surrounded by family and friends and completing a few projects here around the house with B. Today, I am so excited to finally share with you a full nursery reveal! Yup! We're DONE!

It's been a slow process, but completely worth it. This past weekend I went out with my Mom and good friend Jess, and was able to pick up the last few items on my list of things that we needed. But, before we jump to the tour photos - let's check out this room before we made the change from our bedroom, to baby nursery...

Our Bedroom Summer 2010Our Bedroom Summer 2010

Yup - the whole space was pretty much dominated by our queen size bed. It also wasn't really anything special. Bed, dresser, hamper = bedroom. So really, this change was for the best for everyone. I was so sick of that room. Now - we love it, and cannot wait to bring our little girl home to it...

This little girl has so many books...

Nursery - July 10, 2011

They don't all fit into the beautiful bookshelves that her Grandpa built for her...

Nursery - July 10, 2011

On either side of her turquoise dresser live her new hamper (that I picked up for $24.99 at HomeSense), and her diaper pail.

Overhead sit her floating shelves, with some precious keepsakes, including my Dad's baby booties, my Beatrix Potter books, a picture of my Nana and a photo of her Grandma and Grandpa who live in Massachusetts.

One of my favourite pieces in the room are the white panelled curtains that my Mom transformed for us, using the fabric I bought to inspire the entire nursery design. Thanks Mom!

Over the weekend I also picked up this cute little shelf from Value Village for $3.99. I knew it would be the perfect spot to display her cutest shoes, and it also helped to balance the wall where the window is.

The chair we're using, was the white wicker chair that was in my nursery when I was a baby. On it sits a yellow pillow I picked up at HomeSense, a brown and white Kate Spade pillow that I've owned for years, and a beautiful green blanket made by one of B's family friends! Love it!

Around Peanut's crib - a lovely and soft Sleep Sheep from a family friend and hanging over top, the DIY mobile that I made for our little girl.

At the foot of her crib sit all of the soft and cuddly toys and rattles that we have received for her so far. The big teddy bear sitting on the chair came from B's parents.

On the same wall as the door and her closet is her gallery art wall...

Nursery - July 10, 2011

The "ABC I Love You" print from Brittany's shop, some wooden plaques made by my Great-Grandfather for my Dad's nursery, a lovely fabric, the little owl I bought at the Christmas One of a Kind Show, and an empty frame, waiting for us to hang our little girl's first initial in (once we pick a name for her).

So there you have it - finally, a complete nursery for our little girl. Kind of outside of the box - but we both love it. It's cozy, and kid friendly and very us. We've pieced it together with a lot of meaningful pieces and utilized the little space that we have to the best of our ability.

Now, all that we need is a little girl to bring home to it... and it could be any day now that we're only THREE DAYS away from my due date.... WHOA! It feels like only yesterday that we found out we were expecting. Time sure does fly!
